Italy’s Vittoria Panizzon with Chequers Play The Game finished on her leading dressage score of 34.5 to win The Irish Field CCI3* at the 2017 Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair. Vittoria came into today’s show jumping with just a fence in hand, so the pressure was on when Piggy French and the 10 year old ISH gelding Quarrycrest Echo completed on a clear finishing on 39.3.
Prior to the show jumping, Vittoria had said that the show jumping was not the strongest phase for Chequers Play The Game. Her fears were unfounded though as the combination completed on just 1 time penalty.
Willa Newton and Caja 20 finished on their dressage score of 43.6 to take third place.
Tegan White-McMorrow and Texan Style proved to be best of the Irish entries finishing in 18th place on 90.8 penalties .
