Padraig McCarthy and Leonidas II

Padraig McCarthy was delighted to take his first CCI4*-L win with Leonidas II (formerly campaigned by Sir Mark Todd) at Barroca (5-8 Mar) . The combination who scored 31.1 in the dressage went on to go clear cross country adding just 8 time penalties. This took them into the final day in 2^nd position behind fellow Irish rider Cathal Daniels with OLS King Aragon (winners of the CCI3*-S the previous week). A clear round show jumping proved to be the decider, as Cathal and OLS King Aragon collected 16 jumping penalties which dropped them to a final 3^rd place on the podium. Michael Ryan and Barnahown Corn Hill took 6^th.
