There was plenty of tension at the final horse inspection at the Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials, as four combinations were sent to the holding box in front of the ground jury of Katrin Eichinger-Kniely (AUT), Merel Schurink (NED), and Dr Ernst Topp (GER).

The horses sent to the holding box were:
🇳🇱 Janneke Boonzaaijer with I’M SPECIAL NOP (Netherlands)
🇲🇦 Noor Slaoui with CASH IN HAND (Morocco)
🇬🇧 Kitty King with VENDREDI BIATS (Great Britain)
🇮🇪 Declan Cullen with SEAVAGHAN ASH (Ireland)

Of the four, only Ireland’s SEAVAGHAN ASH successfully passed upon re-presentation and was accepted to continue.

It was a particularly tough blow for Kitty King and Vendredi Biats, who had been sitting in fourth place after cross-country and were firmly in contention for a top finish.
