Grove hosted their first event of the season on 28th June. A lot of work has taken place to revamp the cross-country track.
Emma Jackson and Amy B finished on her winning dressage score of 29.1 to take the honours in the
Fernhill Sport Horses & Sportsfield Event Horses O/CNC2*. Sam Watson and Horseware Lukeswell finished in second place on a score of 31.6 having accumulated 2 time penalties on the X/C . Only two combinations actually finished within the time allowed.

Starting with the leading dressage score of 26.6 left Lesley Webb enough leeway to win the clas, even having picked up 7.2 time penalties on the x/c section.

Sam Watson with David Bogossian’s dun gelding, Tullabeg Flamenco won the O/CCNC1* on their first outing, finishing on their winning dressage score of 29.3. Cathal Murphy and Master Downes also finished on a dressage score of 36 to finish second, with Laura Kelly and To A T just 0.3 points behind in third.

Sam Watson’s winning streak came through again in the CNC1* where he triumphed over the field of 28 runners. He was lying in second place after the dressage with a score of 29.0, but a fall on the cross country course by leaders Rosemarie Ahern O’Gorman with Lissangle Lux The Business (Dressage score 27.8) put him into the winning place.

Fraser Duffy and Carol Gee’s very consistent grey gelding, Summer at Fernhill who has won 3 of his six outings this season including last week’s Kilguilkey Interernational, took the pole position in the CNC1* (6yo) section finishing on a dressage score of 21.5.
