Ireland climb into medal contention after dramatic cross-country at Blenheim

The cross-country phase of the Agria Blenheim FEI European Eventing Championship produced major changes to both the individual and team standings, with pre-event favourites Great Britain falling out of medal contention following eliminations for Yas Ingham and Piggy March, while Ireland surged into a medal position.

Ireland are now in line to win their first team European medal since 1995.

Germany hold the lead on 113.7, with Ireland second on 150.7, while Switzerland sit provisionally third on 161.3 heading into Sunday’s show jumping.
