Joseph Murphy placed 13th and was the winner of the Glentrool Trophy  for the Horse & Rider who have made greatest improvement on their dressage placing. Coming into the cross country, Joseph was in 75th position. A  faultless show jumping round today, moved him even further up the leaderboard.

Jonty Evans and Cooley Rorkes Drift produced a faultless jumping round to finish in 20th. The error on the cross country yesterday was very disappointing for Jonty who had been in 3rd place after such an impressive dressage test – where he achieved a personal best score. The combination have however been so impressive at Badminton.

Only 49 of the 80 starters managed to complete the demanding cross country course this year, so it is impressive that 10 Irish riders managed to complete Badminton’s demanding three phases of competition.

Irish results:

Joseph Murphy and Sportsfield Othello 13th
Clare Abbott and Euro Prince 14th
Jonty Evans and Cooley Rorkes Drift 20th
