The second week of the Portugal Spring Tour at Mata do Duque, February 28 to March 3, attracted entries from fifteen nations.
The feature class was the CCI4*S which was the first Olympic confirmation qualifier of the year. There were 16 starters in this section.
The victory was taken by dressage leader Ryuzo Kitajima with CEKATINKA JRA for Japan, who finished with a final score of 33.6. In second place was Spain’s Carlos Diaz Fernandez with OTTAWA DES DESIG and in third was the Portuguese rider Manuel Grave with CARAT DE BREMOY.
CCI3*L
Winner of the CCI3*L was Raf Kooremans with CROSSBORDER RADAR LOVE (NLD), who completed the cross country in the fastest time, and sealed his victory with a clear showjumping round on Sunday. In second was Pedro Lira Jimenez with LUJURIA DEL AMOR 20 75 for Spain, and in third was the winner of the first week’s CCI3*S, Portugal’s Joaquim Grave with LET’S WIN

It was a 1,2,3 for Spain in the CCI1*-Intro section.

The team at Mata do Duque worked tirelessly to pull off this great event. Event Director ,Francisco Stilwell and Event President Augusto Calça E Pina, along with Hon. President, Isabel SANTOS, are already making plans to stage an even bigger event here for next year, confident in the fact that Mata do Duque can run whatever the weather gods decide to throw.
