Sad news regarding BGS Country Dreams at Millstreet

We send sincere condolences to Patrick Byrne and all connections of BGS Country Dreams, who sadly suffered a fatal accident today at Millstreet International Horse Trials. Patrick and the 9 y/o gelding were competing in the CICO3*

BGS Country Dreams

It is with great sadness that we announce that BGS Country Dreams, ridden and owned by Patrick Martin BYRNE (IRL) died as a result of a fatal accident while competing at the Millstreet International Horse Trials on Saturday 25th August 2018 in the CIC03* FEI Eventing Nations Cup.

BGS Country Dreams a 9 year old gelding had a non-rotational fall at Fence 22, The Gypsy Wagon, during the cross country phase. The combination had jumped clear until that point.

The rider was uninjured in the fall.

The horse will be taken for a post mortem at the Irish Equine Centre.

The organisers of the event, the Duggan family, extend their deepest sympathy to the connections of BGS Country Dreams and Patrick Martin Byrne
