Sam Watson with the 13 year old grey Puissance gelding, Imperial Sky (ISH) were the victors of the CCI4*-L at the first home international of the year.
After dressage and cross country, it was Belgium’s Geoffroy de Jamblinne, who was in the lead with Consequent Pia Z just 0.6 of a penalty in hand over Sam. Sam produced a perfect clear, putting pressure on the leader. Consequent Pia Z knocked two poles, dropping to 7th place.
Great Britain’s Ben Hobday with Shadow Man moved up the leaderboard to take the second slot, with Giovanni Ugolotti and Note Worthy for Italy taking third.
In the Eventing Ireland CCI4* – S, Japan’s Kazuma Tomoto took the two top slots on the podium, finishing in 1st with Bernadette Utopia (formerly ridden by Padraig McCarthy) and in 2nd with Brookpark Vikenti. Scoring was extremely close with just 0.2 of a penalty point, separating the top three. Clare Abbott and Euro Prince finished in 3rd and Sarah Ennis with Woodcourt Garrison took 4th.
Great Britain took the two top positions in the CCI3*-S. Nicola Wilson with Bulana took the top slot and Louisa Lockwood with Another Proposition taking 2nd. Sam Watson added another podium place by taking 3rd with Ballybolger Talisman.Michael Ryan with Dunlough Striker who hopefully will be soon accepted for Badminton (next place on the wait list) finished 4th.
Nicola Wilson scored her second win of the weekend in the CCI2*-L with Chabadu, Michael Ryan took 2nd with Carol and Tom Henry’s seven year old grey gelding, Classicals Fortune
In the CCI2*-S it was a win for Italy with Giovanni Ugolottiand Swirly Temptress finishing on their dressage score of 28.2. Brian Morrison with Binrado picked up just 2 time penalties cross country to finish in 2ndwhile Camilla Speirs with BT Martins Masterpiecetook 3rd.
Olivia Swan with Rockon Pedro won the CCI2*-S for Ponies
Ballindenisk International was a great success with a beautifully designed course, great ground conditions and with glorious weather to add the final touch.
The impressive new Ballindenisk App (developed by Kate Fell) was a welcome addition to the event. All information was available and easy to navigate.
