There was a varied climate at Punchestown today (21st May), sunshine one minute, then downpours the next. Fortunately the former dominated so most competitors came home dry.
O/CNC2*
Sarah Ennis and Shanbo Queen B win the €2,000 O/CNC2* class.
The feature class of the day, the O/CNC2* had a prize fund of €2,000 , with €1,000 going to the winner.
There were 25 starters in the the class and Sarah Ennis claimed the top slot with the Master Imp mare, Shanbo Queen B. In second position after the dressage with 47.8 penalties, they just added a further 4 time penalties to finish on 51.8. Jodie O’Keeffe and Reenmore Duke were the leaders going out into the cross country but a fall at Fence 15 meant elimination.
Time was tight on the cross country, with only two combinations coming home with no time penalties. One of those was second placed James O’Haire & China Doll, and the other was Michael O’Toole and Greenfort Endeavour who won the class at the previous Punchestown event on 7th May.

Tottenham Timber CNC2*
Michael McNally and Mount Panther. CNC2* winners
Michael McNally and Mount Panther were in third slot after the dressage but were the fastest around the cross country track, coming back clear with just 4 time penalties, enough to take the lead. A clear show show jumping round left a final winning score of 29.2.

Maria Byrne
Winners Maria Byrne & BGS Juicyfruit were the only combination to return clear within the time from the cross country.

In this section Felicity Ward once again finished on her leading dressage score to win with Shanagore Jenga. The only other combination to finish on their dressage score was third placed Rafael Sanctuary and RLE Spencers Dream.
