Victory in the NutriScience CCI4*L at Ballindenisk International (2) went to Sian Coleman with Kate Jarvey’s Hush A Bye Baby. The combination produced the only clear cross-country within the time allowed, and followed with the only clear showjumping, to finish on their dressage score of 32.6 penalties.
This combination previously won the Horse Sport Ireland-sponsored CCI4*-L at Millstreet International in August 2022.
Patrick Whelan finished second with Denis Finch Hatton on 41.1 and Georgie Goss and Feloupe were third on 47.4.
In the Cameron Kiernan Landscaping Ltd CCI3*-L Georgie Goss took the victory for Ireland riding Kojak, finishing on their dressage score of 30.2. (Kojak is owned in partnership between Goss and Molly Fisher, Lucy Fleming and Samantha Wilson.
In second was Great Britain’s Sam Ecroyd with Chapel House (ISH). And New Zealand’s Caroline Powell took third with Legally Grey (ISH).
In the Southern Fuel & Farm Supplies Ltd CCI2*-L, Niamh Tottenham with her own Slieve Callan Gael (ISH) took the top placing, with overnight leader Sarah Ennis with Deirdre Connolly’s OnceUponATime (ISH) took second after one pole down in the showjumping.
Elizabeth Power took third with Dassett Fortune (ISH), owned by Therese Miller.
Victory in the NutriScience CCI4*-S went to New Zealand’s Caroline Powell with Greenacres Special Cavalier (ISH).
The heavy rain on Sunday meant that time penalties cross-country were very influential on the leaderboard. Dressage leader Clare Abbott and Jewelent (ISH), owned by Lisa Rosbotham, finished second, adding 18.8 time penalties.
Sarah Ennis with Grantstown Jackson (owned by Susanna Francke and Peter Cole), posted the fasted cross-country round of the day, to finish third.
Emily King won the Southern Fuel & Farm Supplies Ltd CCI3*-S with Maserati De Landetta Z. Sam Ecroyd was second with Boleybawn LeCrae (ISH) andBen Connors was third with OLS Queen Bee (ISH) owned by Michelle Nelson.
Ian Cassells won the Southern Fuel & Farm Supplies Ltd CCI2*-S with Greenogue Gigi (owned by Con McCarthy) . This was the only combination who did not add time penalties on the cross-country.
Second place went to Emma Newsam and Magennis (ISH). This was Magennis’ last event, as Ballindenisk marked his retirement. He has competed to the highest level of the sport including multiple five-stars, European Championships and several Nations Cups.
In the Jod-Z CCIP2*-S, Great Britain’s Florence Drewitt with Crossgales Into the Blu, took the victory, with Ireland’s Sarah Smullen with Cloughreagh Charlie taking second and Great Britain’s Arabella Henderson with Our Billy Eile, taking third.
Belline Equestrian horses owned by Richard Ames, secured the top three podium places in the Michael Leonard CCI1*-Intro for 5&6yo, with Robbie Kearns taking first with Belline Thistle Bethelasttime and second with Belline Castle Fifty Seven whilst third was taken by Caitie Slater with Belline Imperial Diamond
Michael Ryan with Claragh Road (owned by Nicholas Pomeroy) were the winners of the CCI1*-Intro. Casey Webb with Nelgara Lucy Locket (owned bySean Moher), took second and Patrick Whelan with Tullibards Bennys Optima (owned by Hans Kuehnle) taking third.
