Beautiful weather added to the enjoyment on Sunday 7th at Ballycahane for the first Crecora event this year. The Furnell family have done a lot of work with many new fences on the course. Photos of course at the bottom of this page.
EI110 (Open)
Robbie Kearns and Garrybritt Bonny won this section on 28.8 penalties, with Cathal Daniels and LEB Lias Jewel taking second slot. Both combinations completed on dressage score. Cork’s Michael Ryan with TR Kaygraff, finished in third.
EI110
In the EI110 section the final scores of the top three places were close. It was Cathal Daniels with his own Cappog Tomy, who emerged at the top of the scoreboard, finishing on a dressage score of 31.3 penalties just 0.5 of a penalty ahead of second placed Patrick Byrne with Castle Arkan. Louise Bloomer came third with Shannondale Icarus.
EI110 (J)
There were 16 entries in Junior section which was won by Kate Lenihan with Rockmills, with Cameron Kiernan Jnr and Fernhill Nearly Darc, taking second and Molly O’Neill with Clearistown Flavia in third.
EI110 (P)
Ruth Burke with Atlantic Dreamer took the top slot in the pony section, finishing with 6 penalties in hand ahead of Brian Kuehnle with Tullibards Sixth Sense AC in second place.
EI110 (Amateur)
Marie O’Connor with O C S Electric Clover Boy, finished on dressage score to take the amateur section.
EI105
It couldn’t have been any closer at the top than in the EI105 section, with both Kelley Hutchinson with HSH Piccini, and Michael O’Toole with First Obama, completing on the same dressage score. It was however Kelley Hutchinson who claimed the top slot, having finished closest to the optimum time.
EI100
Michael Ryan with Oakland Quality (by OBOS Quality) were the winners of the EI100 section, finishing on an excellent dressage score of 21.3 giving them a margin of 4.7 ahead of Sian Colman with Blarney Acacia finishing on 26.0 and Brian Morrison with Global Imminus W finishing in third with 27.5.
EI100 (Amateur)
Marie O’Connor took her second win of the day in the Amateur section with Blessington Kings Lier finishing on an excellent score of 22.8.
EI100 (J)
The top three scores were very close again in this section with only 1.5 penalties separating them. It was Katie Naughton with Cruising Caricello who took the win with Allanna Doherty and Clonfinn Lara in second and Keelin McCarthy with Millridge Cara in third.
EI90
Scores were also close in this section, but it was Zora Feurer with Mealagh Billy who emerged at the top, finishing on a score of 33.0, with Sophie Wetz and Well Kept Secret in second on 34.5 and Caoimhe Conroy with Milchem Watermill in third on 35.3.
EI90 (Amateur)
Aoife Darcy with Raise the Bar completed on 35.1 to win the amateur section.
