Tattersalls leaders after dressage today

TATTERSALLS INTERNATIONAL HORSE TRIALS & COUNTRY FAIR IS UNDERWAY AND TEAM GB LEGEND PIPPA FUNNELL LEADS THE FEATURE CLASS AFTER THE DRESSAGE PHASE

TEAM IRELAND’S CATHAL DANIELS LEADS CCI 3* UNDER 25 COMPETITION AND CHLOE FAGAN LEADS CCI JUNIOR 3* OVERNIGHT AFTER THE DRESSAGE PHASE

Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair went into its second day of competition (Thursday) and the feature 4* competition saw legendary three-time Olympic medallist and Grand Slam winner Pippa Funnell (GB) in the overnight lead on a score of 25.4 after the dressage phase. Elizabeth Power is best of the Irish in 21st place on a score of 36.5. Most dressage phases for the first two days of eventing action, except for the short format CIC3* and the CC12*, are now complete.

Cathal Daniels and OLS King Aragon

In the Connollys Red Mills CCIU25 3* L after dressage, Ireland’s Cathal Daniels leads overnight with a score of 26.0 on OLS King Aragon and he also holds third place with LEB Lias Jewel on a score of 27.7.

 

The Horseware CCIJ2*L sees Team Ireland’s Chloe Fagan on her mount Versace Biscuit in the lead after dressage on a score of 24.8.

The Eventing Ireland CCI3*L competition sees New Zealand’s James Avery in overnight lead with Aloha on a score of 23.9 with Camilla Speirs best of the Irish on Lukas in 11th position on 34.1.

The Land Rover CC12*L is lead by Team GB’s John Paul Sheffield on Woodlander Wesuvio in overnight lead with a score of 27.8 whilst best of the Irish is Molly Evans on Wellan Graffiti close by on a score of 29.6.

In the Cooley Farm CCI Young Horse 2*L Team GB’s William Fox Pitt on horse Graffenacht leads overnight with a score of 24.6 with best of the Irish Sarah Ennis on Shanbo Sky Fall in 4th place on a score of 29.0. Esib Power on Azure lies in 5th on 29.2 whilst Sarah Ennis again features in 6th place with Tullabeg Tango on 29.8 points.

The Berney Bros CCI2*L for Ponies sees Ireland’s Bramblebrough Eoghan rideen by Lucie Glynn in the lead with a score of 30.80.

Advance ticket sales are already up 12% on last year as huge crowds are anticipated for the favourite all action cross country jumping which starts tomorrow (Friday) and runs until Sunday.

Tatts 2019 combines world class sport with a quintessential country fair and aside from the equestrian competition, over 35,000 people are expected to attend. The Kids Zone is packed with fun; the highlight are the novelty dog shoe and the mini-puissance ponies who will be jumping a specially made wall! Carnival Rides, activity area for older kids is sure to capture the imagination along with a shopping village of over 80 shops.
