A major disappointment for Team Ireland at the FEI Eventing Nations Cupâ„¢ Final 2025 in Military Boekelo, as Joseph Murphy and Calmaro were withdrawn before the final showjumping phase.
Ireland had gone into the final day in silver position, just 0.6 of a penalty behind leaders Great Britain, but with only three combinations remaining after Georgie Goss and Kojak were eliminated on cross country, Murphy’s withdrawal means the team no longer has enough riders to complete a Nations Cup score.
💚 Focus Now on Individual Success
Irish attention now turns to the two remaining team members:
-
Padraig McCarthy and MGH Zabaione [ISH] — currently sitting 3rd individually, less than a penalty behind overnight leader Laura Collett (GBR).
-
Susie Berry and John The Bull [ISH] — who delivered a clear cross-country inside the time to move up to 12th place and remain in contention for a strong top-10 finish.
It’s been a weekend of highs and heartbreak for the Irish contingent at Boekelo, but there’s still plenty to play for in the individual standings as the competition heads into its final phase.
