French rider Thibaut Vallette with his gold medal Olympic partner, Qing Du Briot Ene HN performed an impressive test to take the lead on a score of 38.7 after the first day of dressage at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.
In second place is Germany’s Bettina Hoy and Designer 10 who posted a score of 39.2, and in third is Michael Jung and the reigning Badminton champion La Biosthetique Sam FBW, on a score of 40.
Both Sarah Ennis and Horseware Stellor Rebound and Austin O’Connor with Kilpatrick Knight, gave impressive performances for Ireland, and stand in eleventh and twelfth place.
